What We Are Not

Just as important as knowing who we are, is knowing who we are
not. Here are a few definitive things that we are not:

We are not hierarchical

Office politics have no place at EF. Each person should feel comfortable to speak to anyone from the runner boy to CEO, and each person should remain accessible and open to others. Peers work together to solve day-to-day issues, rather than escalating cases to their managers and waiting for the issues to be solved.Open and constructive dialogue is encouraged.

We are not pencil-pushers

We pride ourselves on being efficient and unbureaucratic. This means that we do not require people to fill out forms, write memos when they are not necessary, or go through elaborate processes to make decisions. We believe in keeping paperwork to a minimum in order to focus on what is really important: delivering the highest quality to our customers.

We do not say “that’s not my job”

Always remember to keep the big picture in mind; we are all working towards one goal – to build a great company. This means there is no room for “that’s not my job” mentality. Team-work, regardless of department, region or product, is essential at EF.

We never just say “no” to a customer

There is almost always a compromise that will keep our customers happy. Promise to get back to them with an alternative and discuss with your manager what we can do. Never just say “no”. The same principle applies to our internal work environment, we never say “no” to our colleagues until we have explored all the options.
